The Role & Business

Working as an Intermediate / Contracts Administrator for a growing builder, you will be reporting to experienced Director and Construction Manager from a Tier 2 background and have the opportunity to have a clear route into project management as the business grows. Every Project Manager in the business has been trained and promoted from within.

You will be working on bespoke commercial, health and Industrial projects within Sydney. As a CA, you will be involved in all post-contract award decisions from procurement, letting subcontract trade packages, management of RFI's, variations and progress claims, EOT's and NoD's. As your experience grows, you will start to gain a strong understanding of Head Contract Management and preparing and presenting monthly Cost Reports to the Management Team. Typically working on 1-2 concurrent projects depending on the size of the job. The jobs are priced well and allow you to work with quality subbies and enjoy your job instead trying to claw back margin and ‘fighting’ with second rate subbies at every corner.

The Builder are a well recognised and respected within their project range of $1M - $20M and growing within their sectors across New Build, Refurb and Fit-Out. They pride themselves on team harmony, a strong culture and recognise people want to enjoy where they work and also have lives outside of a busy Construction Career. The business hire on personality with the intention of investing heavily in training and mentoring so you can grow with the business long term - they are not a project-to-project company when it comes to hiring staff.

Turning over in excess of $70M in NSW, they are best known for the delivery of high-end projects that often competing in MBA Award Winning panels. Typically working with Clients who are household names across Australia, they have an 70% repeat client base which ensures consistency of work and has insured the business against the worst of the economic climate.

Qualifications & Experience

You will have finished a Bachelor of Construction Management, Civil Engineering or Architecture

You will have a minimum of 18 to 24 months industry experience post degree working for a recognised Head Contractor in Sydney

Your key drivers will be about wanting to be part of something and work with professional people whilst building quality projects

Your attitude will be your biggest asset - you will be hard working, have a positive mindset and be eager to learn

You will have worked with good construction software
