What you will be doing

· Observing and documenting children's learning, interests and developmental needs

· Contributing to and implementing a play based educational program that is reflective of children’s cultural

identities, interests and strengths.

· Ensuring a culturally safe, secure and nurturing environment is provided for all children

· Building strong relationships with children, families and the wider community

· Collaborating with the team to continually improve educational practices

· Adhering to all relevant childcare regulations, policies and procedures

What we are looking for

· A Certificate IIII in Early Childhood Education and Care or actively pursuing a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.

· Demonstrated experience working as a Childcare Educator

· Strong understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework V2.0 and National Quality Standards

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with children and families

· Passion for creating inclusive, play-based learning environments

· Adaptable and flexible approach to meeting the diverse needs of young children

· Current First Aid and CPR certification

· Current Working with Children Check

· Current First aid, CPR, Asthma & Anaphylaxis training

About Us

Yawarra Community and Child Care Centre is a highly respected Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation that has been offering high quality education and care to community for over 40 years, with a strong focus on a play-based pedagogy and community engagement.

Our service is licensed for 30 children per day with a priority given to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. We are open from 7:30am to 5:00pm, 48 weeks per year.
