We’re working with a fast-scaling fintech transforming a niche but critical part of the financial services sector. Following a critical stage of the business they're bringing their entire finance function in-house — and need an experienced Senior Accountant to take control.

What you’ll be doing:

• Oversee all accounting operations, including review of transaction-level entries from offshore support
• Ensure timeliness and accuracy across AP, payroll, G/L postings, reconciliations, accruals, and compliance
• Prepare accurate monthly financials and management reporting
• Administer payroll, superannuation, and payroll tax (with oversight to ensure everything is compliant)
• Handle BAS, GST, activity statements, and trust-level reporting
• Support loan portfolio accounting, including bank recs and repayment tracking
• Contribute to liquidity planning, budgeting and performance reporting for a large debt facility
• Play a key role in audit readiness and compliance — especially for warehouse funders

What we’re looking for:

• 5+ years accounting experience, ideally with a background in financial services, fintech, or lending
• Someone who understands the mechanics of loan accounting and trust structures
• Experience preparing financial reports and managing payroll and tax compliance
• Strong working knowledge of Xero and Excel
• Ideally a second mover from Big 4, someone ready to take full ownership of an in-house role
• High energy, hands-on, and ready to roll up their sleeves
• Must be based in Sydney and available to work 5 days in Sydney CBD office
