Confoil is proud to be an Australian owned family business that has designed and manufactured food packaging foil trays and containers for over 50 years’, having commenced in 1966! Whilst foil is still at the core of our business, our range has expanded to include materials such as paperboard, pulp and eco-parchment.

Our head office and expansive manufacturing facility is located in Bayswater, Melbourne as well as having operations nationally and throughout New Zealand.

We are looking for an experienced Afternoon Shift Maintenance Fitter to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out repairs, alterations and maintenance of presses, conveyors and stackers.

Maintain plant and equipment associated to the Department, facility and customer’s equipment.

Perform "short run" tasks or prototypes or samples for development work.

Liaise with other departments to ensure responsibilities are understood and requirements are met.

Provide detailed information essential to the proper maintenance, repair and upgrade of company assets

Assists in the development of new methods and equipment

Is available to work overtime when required to carry out the above duties outside normal hours.

Qualifications

Trade qualification as fitter and turner

5 Years experience in manufacturing and maintaining equipment in a volume production environment (highly advantageous)

TIG welding experience highly regarded

CNC experience highly regarded

A good understanding of mechanics, pneumatics and valving and the ability to work to quality standards

Have a working knowledge of Quality Systems and HACCP procedures and fully understand the principles of OH&S and consistently works to safe standards. In particular machine guarding and manual handling associated with operating machinery

Good communications skills and the ability to liaise effectively at all levels

Provide supply excellent service to internal and external customers

Work in a harmonious team environment and promote a harmonious team environment
