Position Title: Female Disability Support Worker
Location: Clyde North, VIC (Nearby applicants preferred)
Employment Type: Casual
Shifts: 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM (with early finishes on some days)
Availability: Must be available at least 3 to 4 days per week
Remuneration: $35-$38 per hour
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and relatable Female Disability Support Worker to provide in-home support to a young woman living with complex mental health and neurological conditions, including Functional Neurological Disorder, PTSD, borderline personality disorder, and depression.

The ideal candidate is between the ages of 28 to 33, preferably a mother who understands the emotional and practical needs of someone navigating trauma and mental health challenges. You will be someone who can naturally build trust and create a safe, respectful, and calm environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide emotional support and companionship in a respectful and empowering way

Assist with daily routines including light household tasks, prompting, and meal preparation

Encourage independence while maintaining a calm and non-intrusive presence

Help manage emotional regulation and respond compassionately to distress

Be a grounded, reliable, and reassuring figure in the home

Essential Criteria

Female candidate aged 28–33 (to support client compatibility and comfort)

Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident

Residing in or near Clyde North or Somerville, VIC

Native or fluent English speaker with minimal to no accent

Strong interpersonal skills with a warm and empathetic nature

Ability to remain composed during emotional or challenging situations

Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working With Children Check

Certificate III or IV in Disability, Community Services, or Mental Health

Current First Aid & CPR certification

COVID-19 vaccination (including booster)

Driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle

Desirable

Experience working with individuals with mental health conditions or complex trauma

Parenting or caregiving background, which may help in understanding the client's perspective

Willingness to be assigned to other clients in the area, if required
