We are seeking an individual to join the team to contribute to the development, planning and implementation of research projects for NT Fisheries.

The Fisheries Research Scientist role provides expert scientific advice on the condition of fisheries resources and contributes to the sustainable management of the Northern Territory’s fisheries.

The successful applicant will require the ability to analyse and interpret research findings to provide expert scientific opinion on resource condition and management options as required, and to present and interpret research results to the scientific community and the public at conferences, seminars, public meetings, popular literature or electronic media.

Additionally, the position is responsible for the preparation of external funding applications and liaison with representatives of funding bodies and collaborating agencies.

Fieldwork in remote locations and on research vessels may be required, including outside standard working hours
