The Role:
Menzies School of Health Research is looking to engage a Research Nurse or Research Midwife to be part of the research team for the Paediatric Respiratory Health research team.
The Research Nurse or Research Midwife will work with the research team to conduct participant recruitment, follow-up visits in communities, clinical data and specimen collection, conducting culturally sensitive clinical assessments, and contribute across research studies.
The successful applicant will receive training in research methodologies, according to the protocols and procedures.
This position is based in Darwin. The successful applicant will be required to travel to urban and remote communities via light aircraft and 4WD for up to five (5) days per trip, and up to two (2) trips per month.
What you will bring to the role:
As a motivated individual and qualified health professional, you will have tertiary qualifications in nursing or midwifery with relevant proven clinical experience in either a hospital or community-based health service and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
The successful applicant will also have exceptional written and communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community organisations, and the ability to work collaboratively with health professionals and academic colleagues. This position requires the ability to work sensitively in multicultural and multidisciplinary settings with the skills to engage and communicate with First Nations peoples.

Benefits of working for Menzies:
- 6 weeks annual leave
- Base salary of $99,341 - $107,806 per annum, pro-rata
- Total remuneration package including superannuation and salary packaging benefits of $123,393 – $133,043 per annum, pro-rata
- Option of increasing superannuation contribution to 14%
- Salary packaging up to $15,900 per annum and $2,650 meal and entertainment card tax free.
