Talent International, a leading Australian recruitment firm, has been engaged by our long-standing client, a leading ASX-listed manufacturer. We are seeking a Project Planner/Scheduler to join a major capital works project in heavy industry.
Role Title: Project Planner / Scheduler
Contract Length: Initial 12-month contract (highly likely to extend through to mid-2026)
Location + WFH Flexibility: Port Kembla (on-site presence required several times per week with flexibility available)
Hourly Pay: Up to $110 per hour including super
Client Industry: Manufacturing / Heavy Industry
Start Date: ASAP
Role Details:
You will provide detailed planning and scheduling support across a capital project, ensuring effective schedule development, progress tracking, and reporting. Working as a key member of the Project Team, you'll also help uphold a strong project safety culture while collaborating across internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare and manage detailed work package schedules using Primavera P6, OPC, and MS Project
- Support the development of the overall master schedule in line with project execution strategy
- Monitor and report on schedule progress, risks, critical paths, and change impacts
- Liaise with engineers, contractors, vendors, and sub-contractors to verify schedule inputs
- Maintain schedule alignment through project reporting cycles, change control, and risk management
- Participate in weekly critical task meetings and monthly HSE/communications sessions
- Contribute to planning and schedule elements in contract meetings and monthly reporting
Required Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in major project planning/scheduling in heavy industry or mining (10+ ideal)
- Strong strategic planning and data analysis capabilities
- Excellent working knowledge of Primavera P6, OPC, and MS Project
- Proven ability to deliver accurate, timely planning services through feasibility and execution phases
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience in brownfield project delivery with complex scope and critical safety considerations
- White card (required); additional site inductions will be provided
