About This Opportunity

Join a national initiative driving innovation in healthy ageing and frailty research. The Australian Frailty Network is seeking a proactive and experienced Clinical Research Associate to coordinate and manage the FITTEST study - a multi-site, investigator-led randomised controlled trial. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to contribute to a growing research portfolio that supports better outcomes for older Australians through evidence-based clinical trials.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the FITTEST trial, including ethics and governance submissions, protocol development, and liaising with key stakeholders across research sites.
  • Ensure all trial activities align with ICH Good Clinical Practice, the National Statement, and other regulatory and ethical standards.
  • Maintain effective communication with trial collaborators, coordinating centres, and investigators; support participant recruitment strategies and reporting obligations.
  • Support data collection, database development, and assist with clinical data analysis, reporting, and preparation of research outputs.

About You
  • Tertiary qualifications in science or a related health field, with additional training or experience in clinical trial coordination or management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in conducting clinical trials in accordance with GCP guidelines and ethical standards in Australia.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and ethical requirements related to human research, including trial documentation and reporting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience drafting protocols, reports, and study documentation.
  • High-level skills in using Microsoft Office and research databases, with a proven ability to manage competing deadlines and complex research tasks.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, demonstrating initiative, problem-solving ability, and commitment to trial success.
