Support a team of fee earners in a temporary capacity?

MJD Recruitment is excited to be working on a number of temporary opportunities at national and global law firms that are seeking experienced legal assistants to join their teams. Ongoing contracts from 4 weeks to 3/6 months in Perth CBD with hourly rates from $35 - $40 p/h + Super, depending on experience. WHV, welcome to apply!

These roles will see you supporting partners and their teams with responsibilities including;

• Drafting and preparing legal documents– non-disclosure agreements, cost agreements, court documents, briefs for counsel, letters of demand, contracts, lease agreements, letters of engagement, affidavits, letters of instruction
• Diary and travel management– Coordinate complex schedules, diarising court dates & deadlines, and travel arrangements for the team
• Inbox and correspondence management– Prioritise and organise key communications
• Client and stakeholder communication– Liaise with clients, lawyers, medical experts, barristers, etc.
• Event coordination– Assist with organising team events and functions
• File management– Opening new matters, conflict checks, maintaining, closing, and archiving files
• Billing and timesheet input– End-of-month billing, client reporting, timesheets, and expenses

Do you have the following skillset?

• 2 + years of experience as a Legal Assistant, preferably within Litigation, Corporate, or Insurance law; however, all areas of law will be considered
• Strong organisational, written, and verbal communication skills
• Familiarity with court processes and the ability to use online court portals
• Proficiency in e-filing, expenses & billing systems– Experience with legal software is an advantage (iManage, Affinity, Aderant, Elite 3E, LEAP, FileSite, Chrome River)
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Excellent attention to detail & ability to prioritise workloads and meeting strict deadlines
