TFR Lawyers have an opportunity for a Finance Clerk to join our busy CBD practice.
We are seeking applications from highly motivated and professional individuals who are suitably qualified to perform the role. The role is responsible for processing data related to trust accounting and general bookkeeping. It also represents a great entry opportunity for the right candidate into a finance leadership career.
The position is full time.
Your duties will include, but not be limited to:
The Position:
Use of LEAP legal software for client matter management including accounting functions.
Use of XERO software (cloud-based) including bank feeds and purchases module.
Maintain best practice cybersecurity procedures for account detail verification.
Daily receipting and preparation of payments by cheque and EFT from the statutory trust account and office account.
Accounts receivable / debtor processing.
Accounts payable / creditor processing.
Assist in preparation of fortnightly Payroll using XERO software.
Assist with Super, STP, Payroll Tax, BAS and Instalment Activity Statement preparation and lodgment.
Use of online business banking applications and software, direct deposits, payments and transfers, international transfers.
Undertaking bank reconciliations of the statutory trust account and office account.
Assist in preparation of end of month and finance reports.
Assist staff with account queries, liaise with suppliers and clients.
Account reporting and record keeping.
Monitoring Accounts inbox to make sure tasks from both internal and external stakeholders are attended properly and in a timely manner.
Office administration jobs when required.
Qualifications:
Minimum Certificate IV in accounting and bookkeeping (or demonstrable commensurate experience).
Or currently studying towards a tertiary qualification in finance / accounting (desirable).

Comprehensive organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to produce and maintain accurate records.
Time management and prioritisation skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Initiative and a proactive approach, able to identify inefficiencies and drive continuous improvement opportunities.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive financial information.
The ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
Salary to be negotiated commensurate with experience.
