Designer role available for a Victorian Government department!

Ready to shape how Victorians engage with government services online?

We're seeking a skilled UI Product Designer to join the Digital Transformation Group of a Victorian Government department. You'll be at the heart of a team designing digital experiences that genuinely improve how citizens interact with essential services.

This is a high-impact opportunity suited to an experienced designer who thrives in cross-functional environments and has a passion for inclusive, user-centred design.

• Location: 1 day a week in Footscray
• Hybrid: 4 days WFH
• Salary: $80 per hour
• Type: 6 month temp contact
• Start Date: ASAP
• Interviews: This week!
• Reports to: Design Manager
• Government Experience Required

You'll play a key role in:

• Designing engaging and accessible interfaces using HCD principles.
• Collaborating across teams to create elegant solutions for complex service needs.
• Facilitating workshops and user research to shape customer-focused design decisions.
• Working with Figma, Miro, and established design systems.
• Advocating for digital inclusion and accessibility in every interaction.

You'll be a great fit if you have:

• Proven experience in UI/Product Design across the full design lifecycle.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to confidently present to stakeholders.
• A portfolio demonstrating your ability to turn insights into simple, effective solutions.
• Experience working in or with government departments or similar complex environments.
• Proficiency with tools like Figma, FigJam, Miro, and working with digital design systems.
• A collaborative, adaptable mindset.
