Your opportunity:

Based Geebung, you will focus on development of test plans and engineering support for construction, testing and maintenance activities for secondary systems including Protection and Pole mounted plant.

The role will contribute to a team who provide specialised engineering field support, including technical coaching, training, and technical briefing of field staff, along with developing and maintaining a contemporary and fit-for-purpose library of standard testing methods and instruments for Energy Queensland.

The remuneration for your new role starts from either $158,595 or $171,483 (depending on qualifications) per annum + 14.75% superannuation for a 9-day fortnight and from either $179,213 or $193,774 (depending on qualifications) per annum +14.75% superannuation for a 10-day fortnight.

What you’ll bring:

  • Queensland Electrical Licensing Board Certificate as an Electrical Fitter Mechanic.
  • Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering (Power).

Or

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.

As well as:

  • Detailed knowledge of substation construction, maintenance practices and condition assessment techniques, with a focus on secondary systems including Protection and Pole Mounted plant.
  • Experience with Protection Systems and current Transformers.
  • Australian or New Zealand citizenship or an Australian permanent residency

We’d also love you to have:

  • Ability to provide a high level of customer service related to Secondary systems to Ops Substation/Field Delivery Field teams.
  • Availability to participate in a standby roster as there would be a high degree of ‘out of hours’ to support network issues.
  • ‘C’ Class licence essential as this position will require you to travel.
