The Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Senior Accountant will have a solid accounting background, strong commercial acumen, and demonstrate commitment, reliability, and a collaborative mindset. They will work as an enthusiastic team member in alignment with the organisation’s policies, procedures, culture, and strategic objectives.
The core focus of the role is to provide accurate and detail-oriented support to the Operational Accounting function, including general ledger reconciliations, full month-end processing, revenue recognition, debtor and payable reviews, cash flow management, and other duties as directed by the Financial Controller.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the full month-end process, including journal entries and reconciliations
- Preparing monthly management reports and supporting variance analysis
- Assisting with annual budgeting, forecasting, and KPI tracking
- Overseeing compliance tasks including BAS, FBT, payroll tax, and audit support
- Reviewing cash flow, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions
- Supporting operational leaders with P&L reviews and financial insights
- Maintaining accurate balance sheet reconciliations and identifying discrepancies
- Contributing to continuous improvement of financial processes and internal controls
About You
- A Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- CPA/CA Qualified
- A strong background and proven history in financial/management accounting with preferably at least 4-5 years of experience
- First movers from a Business Services background will be considered
- Solid understanding of month-end processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Strong Excel skills and experience working with accounting/ERP systems
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to partner with stakeholders across the business
- A proactive, detail-oriented approach with a continuous improvement mindset
- The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines
