Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced PMO Lead to join our growing team. In this role, you will be embedded within client organisations—primarily in the financial services sector—to design, establish, and lead Program Management Offices across a range of transformation and change initiatives. You’ll be responsible for ensuring delivery governance, risk and issue management, reporting, planning, and assurance are best-in-class, and tailored to suit the client’s environment and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Establish and lead PMO functions for large-scale programs and portfolios across financial services clients.
Define and implement delivery frameworks, governance structures, reporting standards, and controls.
Drive consistency in program planning, status reporting, RAID management, and benefit tracking.
Provide strategic advice and guidance to senior stakeholders and delivery teams on program health, risks, and dependencies.
Facilitate executive forums including steering committees and governance boards.
Collaborate closely with project managers, sponsors, and delivery partners to ensure alignment and execution integrity.
Conduct assurance reviews and provide recommendations to optimise delivery performance.
Coach and uplift client PMO capability where appropriate.
Key Requirements
8+ years of experience in project, program, or portfolio management roles, with at least 3 years in a PMO leadership capacity.
Strong background working with or within financial services organisations (superannuation, banking, insurance, or wealth).
Proven experience standing up and leading PMOs in complex, multi-stream transformation environments.
Deep understanding of delivery governance, reporting, planning tools, and methodologies (e.g., Agile, PRINCE2, MSP, or PMBOK).
Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing skills.
Demonstrated ability to work in high-pressure client environments and quickly build credibility.
Consulting background or experience working in a professional services context is highly desirable.
