Celebrated for over a decade, Blackbird now brings its signature spirit to the heart of Melbourne, located at 66 Flinders Lane, within the buzzing Collins Place precinct at Exhibition Street.

About the Roles

As we gear up for our launch, we are seeking experienced Hosts and Wait Staff to help deliver exceptional front-of-house service!

Host: As host, you will be the warm welcoming face for guests as they enter Blackbird Melbourne, responsible for creating a genuinely welcoming atmosphere. Greet and seat guests, manage enquiries, reservations, and coordinate the seating plan to ensure smooth service flow.

Wait Staff: As a Waiter/Waitress, you will be the primary contact for our guests during their visit, from providing information about the menu, delivering world-class hospitality, to closing of their bill. You’ll ensure a seamless dining experience and work closely with the Venue Manager and Restaurant Managers.

Key Responsibilities

Greet and escort customers to their tables and provide outstanding service throughout their experience.

Present menus, provide detailed information about dishes or drinks, and make tailored recommendations.

Take accurate food and drink orders, serve promptly, and handle transactions smoothly.

Prepare tables and keep the dining and bar areas clean and organised.

Communicate order details to the kitchen and ensure that dishes are served correctly and promptly.

Uphold health and safety standards, including food and beverage regulations.

What We’re Looking For

All FOH staff must have a current RSA

At least 2 years of experience in a similar role within a busy restaurant environment.

Proven work experience as a Waiter/Waitress or Host.

Hands-on experience with POS systems, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to multitask.

Strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work well in a team.
