The UTS Audio-Visual Services is recruiting for an Event Production Technician to join the team on a casual basis. The role is responsible for the successful delivery AV Support Service event activities. Successful applicants will contribute to delivering events which will require gathering client requirements, onsite operation of technical systems, administrative activities, and ongoing maintenance, stock take, and housekeeping.
In this role, you will;
Operate and set up production support equipment in all theatres, teaching and public spaces.
Consult with clients to understand event requirements and apply specialist technical knowledge to execute their event.
Follow processes and procedures relating to event delivery at UTS in line with broader policy and practices, including technical system manuals, operational guidelines, and maintenance processes.
Contribute to the planning and delivery of technical works and assist with preventive maintenance and repairs to equipment as required.
Carry out installation and modification work in collaboration with AV Support Service team under the direction of the Event Coordinator.
Ensure all safety and other compliance requirements are met for each event including ensuring risk assessments are conducted for all events
Support and contribute to post event analysis (use metrics, feedback etc.) including reporting.
Recommend and implement improvements for future events.
Ensure proper storage and maintenance of equipment, as well as maintaining a clean and tidy storage areas.
To be successful in this role, you will have the following;
The ability to manage and resolve conflict in the planning and delivery of complex events
Effective time management skills and proven ability to remain focused and productive in a busy environment
Knowledge of event management processes such as run sheets, cue sheets, and content management platforms
Comprehensive skills and demonstrated success in professional production services disciplines including lighting, sound & AV
Experience with streaming, control systems and troubleshooting vision issues.
Tertiary qualification in Audio Engineering or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
What we offer you
Hourly Rate: $52.06 per hour HEW 4
The university offers superannuation in addition to the hourly rate.
This position will be offered on a casual basis with no fixed hours, with hours varying depending on operational needs.
