About the role

AB Nurses Support Services is seeking a Male Disability Support Worker to join our team in Carrum Downs, KEW Victoria. This is a casual position that involves providing high-quality care and support to clients with a range of disabilities. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in helping our clients live independently and engage with their local community.

What you'll be doing

Assisting clients with personal care, including showering, grooming, and dressing

Providing domestic assistance, such as meal preparation, cleaning, and laundry

Facilitating social and recreational activities to support clients' wellbeing and community engagement

Advocating for clients' rights and ensuring their needs are met

Maintaining detailed client records and contributing to care planning

Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and safety standards

What we're looking for

A minimum of 6 months' experience in a similar role, providing support to individuals with a disability

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients

A patient, empathetic, and person-centred approach to care

Demonstrated understanding of the principles of disability support and person-centred practice

A current First Aid certificate and satisfactory police check

A genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of people with a disability
