We are currently seeking a motivated and skilled Security Technician / Data Cabler to join our growing team. This is a great opportunity for someone with hands-on experience in security and ICT systems who is looking to further develop their career in a supportive and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Data & Network Cabling

Install and terminate Cat6, coaxial, and fibre optic cabling

Route and test data cabling for optimal performance

Interpret plans, drawings, and site layouts to ensure compliance with standards

Security System Installation

Install, configure, and test CCTV systems, access control, alarm systems, and intercoms

Mount and wire security hardware in residential and commercial settings

Conduct functionality testing and assist in system commissioning

Maintenance & Support

Perform routine maintenance and upgrades of installed systems

Troubleshoot faults and identify performance issues

Provide technical support and resolve service calls in a timely manner

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain accurate service records, cable layouts, and installation logs

Provide clear progress updates to team leaders and clients

Team Collaboration

Work closely with project managers, senior technicians, and subcontractors

Contribute to a positive team culture with clear communication and a solutions-focused mindset

Safety & Compliance

Adhere to WHS policies, site safety rules, and Australian Standards

Follow all guidelines for safe cable handling, tool use, and equipment operation

Requirements

3–5 years’ experience in security and data installation (CCTV, access control, alarms, etc.)

Current Security License (NSW), White Card, and Open Cabling Registration (or ability to obtain)

Solid fault-finding and problem-solving abilities

Strong communication and customer service skills

Full driver’s licence and willingness to travel to various job sites
