The Opportunity
u&u Recruitment is partnering with the Department of Resources to recruit a Senior Procurement Officer (AO6) or Procurement Officer (AO5) within the Georesources – Technical Services division. Based in Brisbane’s CBD, this role will support the delivery of complex, high‑risk procurement and contract management activities across significant infrastructure and maintenance programs, including preparations for the operational phase of the Queensland Resources Common User Facility (QRCUF).
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage end‑to‑end procurement and tender processes from planning through to contract award;
- Provide expert advice to stakeholders while ensuring compliance with government frameworks;
- Oversee contract administration, track milestones and maintain data integrity in systems;
- Support process improvements, training initiatives and reporting across the business unit; and
- Build collaborative relationships with internal teams and external suppliers.
Required Experience
We are seeking candidates who can work effectively under pressure, bring strong procurement knowledge, and demonstrate high‑level communication and problem‑solving skills.
You will ideally have:
- Proven experience in procurement and contract management in complex environments;
- Familiarity with SAP and Queensland Government procurement frameworks;
- Certification in Queensland Government Level 2 or 3 Procurement (desirable);
- Experience with SharePoint, MS Forms and Power BI (desirable); and
- Tertiary qualifications in law, finance, engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience).
