Martial Arts Coach & Program Developer
We’re seeking a dynamic and experienced martial arts professional to lead the development and delivery of GROO’s exclusive martial arts-based group fitness program. This role is perfect for someone who lives and breathes martial arts, has a passion for coaching, and can bring energy, structure, and innovation to our team.
Key Responsibilities:
Design Signature Martial Arts Program: Create GROO’s exclusive martial arts-based group fitness program by integrating traditional techniques with modern fitness methodologies, tailored for diverse fitness levels and goals.
Develop Dynamic Choreography: Design engaging martial arts choreography suitable for group class formats, promoting technical accuracy, cardiovascular intensity, and energetic flow.
Coach Education & Training System: Develop a structured training and mentoring program for GROO instructors, ensuring they master technique, safety protocols, effective instruction methods, and class delivery confidence.
Lead Instructional Workshops: Conduct regular hands-on workshops and practical coaching sessions to demonstrate techniques, ensure proper form, and maintain consistency across all GROO martial arts offerings.
Deliver Live Classes: Serve as the role model coach by delivering live group sessions with high energy, discipline, and enthusiasm that embody GROO’s values and training standards.
Curriculum & Safety Oversight: Design comprehensive training plans for various skill levels, ensure safe execution of techniques, and foster a positive and inclusive learning environment in every class.
Performance Assessment & Belt Progression: Evaluate participant performance, provide constructive feedback, and oversee martial arts grading or belt testing processes to track progress and celebrate achievement.
Facility & Culture Stewardship: Maintain a clean, organized training space and contribute to building a strong martial arts culture that promotes health, confidence, respect, and inclusion within the Adelaide community.
About You
Recognised coaching certification in martial arts discipline(s)
Strong background in martial arts program development and teaching methodology
Experience in choreographing martial arts routines for fitness or performance
Proven ability to train, mentor, and upskill other instructors
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Coaching or group fitness accreditation is a plus
Passionate about fitness, education, and community impact
