A bit about the role

Join our Revenue and Rating team as a Senior Revenue & Supplementary Officer, where you'll play a vital role in managing Council’s rating processes and delivering high-quality service to our community.

In this key position, you’ll lead the charge in ensuring the accurate creation, maintenance, and issuing of rates and charges, including supplementary valuations, while supporting the Revenue & Rates team to meet legislative requirements and service standards. You’ll work with precision and empathy, using your strong knowledge of rating systems and TechOne to maintain data integrity, generate reports, and respond to complex enquiries with professionalism.

What you’ll deliver

  • Manage the end-to-end supplementary valuation process, including rate calculations and issuing of notices.
  • Maintain accuracy and integrity of Council’s rating database using TechOne Property & Rating.
  • Provide high-level advice and support to customers on rates, revenue, and property-related matters.
  • Prepare and submit annual returns for Emergency Services, Essential Services Commission, and Pension Audit.
  • Generate rates, fines, interest, and notices in line with legislation and Council’s Revenue & Rating Strategy.

What you’ll bring

  • Relevant qualification in business, property, or accounting, or extensive experience in rates and revenue within a local government context.
  • Strong knowledge of legislation relevant to property, valuations, and rates, including the Local Government and Valuation of Land Acts.
  • Proven experience using rating systems and financial software, ideally TechOne, to support revenue operations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to provide clear advice and resolve complex issues.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented approach with strong financial acumen and a commitment to delivering high-quality customer service.
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check and Eligibility to Work check.
  • A curious, collaborative, and inclusive community mindset.
