Join our dedicated team at MFO as a Multicultural Client and Community Liaison, where you’ll play a key role in supporting and empowering multicultural individuals and community groups across the Gold Coast.
About the Role
As a Client and Community Liaison, you’ll be instrumental in implementing MFO’s community engagement strategies and providing direct settlement case management to new and emerging communities. Your work will help foster inclusion, improve service access, and strengthen the capabilities of local cultural associations and leaders.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver tailored settlement case management and community capacity-building support.
Coordinate events aligned with key cultural dates (e.g. Harmony Week, Refugee Week, NAIDOC).
Develop and deliver group sessions that promote cultural orientation, community engagement, and employment readiness.
Engage CALD communities and service providers through forums and stakeholder meetings.
Support the coordination of men’s engagement programs that address mental health and social isolation.
Contribute to MFO communications, including editing our monthly newsletter and attending public events.
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience in community engagement, multicultural liaison, or a similar role.
Strong understanding of settlement services and culturally responsive support.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly with CALD clients.
Experience in planning and facilitating events or community programs.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Confident speaker with the ability to represent MFO in public and stakeholder settings.
