Currently, there are around 5.5 million Australians with a disability. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 717,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian.

A new role awaits

The Technology Services Division has an APS6 vacancy within the Agency ICT Services Branch. The Agency ICT Services Branch supports all ICT systems and infrastructure including the primary business applications such as SAP CRM and Salesforce CRM.

The Corporate Applications Directorate is a brilliant team to be a part of. We play a critical role in the Agency’s success, ensuring that several platforms and apps are maintained and secure. Our responsibilities span from enterprise grade contact centre solutions, ITSM tooling, SMS products, Board Paper Management apps, Form and survey capabilities and much more. There is a strong focus on delivering value and innovation to our stakeholders, by extension ensuring the scheme participants are at the centre of our decisions. Where you can add value

As the APS6 System Analyst, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Maintenance and support for a vast range of vendor hosted SaaS applications.
  • Developing both functional and technical patterns for use across the Enterprise Services and Application Management domains.
  • Investigating, implementation and supporting integrations between both internal and external applications and services
  • Working with Architects and Business Analysts to support/maintain technical roadmap and improve/grow maximum value.
  • Adhering to ITIL practices such as change management and problem management.
  • Provide knowledge and advice across technical forums, developing and owning documentation.

Ideal candidates are driven individuals who want to make change and not accept the status quo. Experience in developing efficient solutions, having a strong growth mindset and the ability to learn under limited supervision is highly desired. The attributes we are looking for in our ideal candidate are:

Hard Skills:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a system analyst or a technical business analyst in an Enterprise IT environment.
  • Strong understanding of system architecture, IT infrastructure and operations.
  • Experience with cloud-based solutions (AWS and Azure), including deployment, monitoring and logging.
  • Understand DevOps concepts such as automated build and deployment pipelines, Infrastructure as Code etc.
  • Understanding of SRE principles such as SLAs, SLOs, post-mortems and root cause analysis.
  • Knowledge of database administration concepts, security best practices, networking concepts is highly desirable.
  • Awareness of accessibility and user centric design principles.
  • Ability to analyse complex business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Any relevant certifications related to cloud platforms, DevOps, ITIL would be an advantage.
  • Familiarity with standard documentation and diagramming concepts such as UML notation, dataflow diagrams, network diagrams etc.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to facilitate discussions and workshops with cross functional teams.
  • Possessing strategic and tactical thinking, having a systems approach and thinking in terms of future state.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and building strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced environment.

While this role is ideally performed from any of our NDIA Office locations, remote working arrangements may be considered. We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles up to 12 months with the possibility of extension up to 2 years may be offered.

Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
