Norton Motor Group is seeking a qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic to join our friendly and professional team in Horsham, Victoria. Key responsibilities include:

· Perform routine automotive maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, transmission flushes, air conditioner re-charges, front-end alignments, battery installations and headlight/taillight installations;

· Maintain a working knowledge of current industry best practices in automotive repair;

· Perform preventative actions on vehicles to ensure performance and safety;

· Test functionality of parts;

· Conduct extensive diagnostic procedures to determine the source/s of customers’ problems and provide accurate repair recommendations;

· Inspect vehicles according to Victorian requirements for emissions and safety;

· Inspect vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair, maintain and upgrade;

· Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubrication, parts, etc);

· Practice excellent problem solving skills, diagnosing, servicing & repairing with preference to Ford and Isuzu vehicles; and

· Reporting all necessary work, service or repairs to Service Manager

To be considered for the role, you will have:

· Technical/Trade qualifications as a Motor Mechanic/Automotive Technician;

· At least 4 years of work experience as a qualified Motor Mechanic/Automotive Technician;

· Excellent diagnostic skills;

· Experience working on different makes and models of vehicles;

· Extensive experience in repairs and maintenance in line with the manufacturer and dealership requirements;

· The ability to work to a schedule and meet deadlines;

· Strong diagnostic capabilities;

· Reliable and punctual;

· Good customer service and communication skills;

· Able to work independently and within a team; and

· Strong attention to detail to ensure quality workmanship
