5911 Mechanical & Customs is looking for Automotive Mechanics and Electricians to work with us at 25E Infinity Dr Truganina Vic 3029. We are looking to employ suitable and qualified candidates to fulfil the vacant positions at 5911 Mechanical & Customs.
Automotive Electrician Responsibilities:
1. Diagnosing Electrical Faults in Vehicles:
Using diagnostic equipment and software to identify issues within the electrical systems of cars, trucks, buses, and other vehicles.
Inspecting and testing electrical systems such as the charging system, starting system, ignition system, lighting, air conditioning, and other electronically controlled systems.
Analyzing and interpreting diagnostic reports to pinpoint faulty components or circuits.
2. Repairing and Replacing Electrical Components:
Performing repairs on defective electrical parts, such as alternators, batteries, starter motors, wiring harnesses, fuses, and switches.
Replacing faulty components such as lights, sensors, control modules, and electronic displays.
Repairing or re-wiring electrical circuits that are damaged or worn out.
3. Maintaining Vehicle Electrical Systems:
Conducting routine maintenance checks on electrical systems as part of scheduled vehicle servicing.
Testing the performance of systems like lighting, air conditioning, heating, and onboard computers.
Ensuring that all electrical parts are functioning correctly and safely according to manufacturer specifications.
4. Installing Electrical Systems and Accessories:
Installing new electrical systems, including entertainment systems, alarms, GPS navigation, reversing cameras, and parking sensors.
Fitting additional vehicle components like lighting upgrades, electric windows, and central locking systems.
Wiring custom modifications or accessories as requested by customers.
5. Working with Vehicle Computer Systems:
Diagnosing and repairing vehicle computer systems and electronic control units (ECUs), including engine management, transmission control, and body control systems.
Programming or reprogramming electronic control units as required.
6. High-Voltage Systems (for Hybrid and Electric Vehicles):
Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in hybrid and electric vehicles.
Handling high-voltage electrical systems with strict adherence to safety regulations.
Replacing or servicing hybrid and electric vehicle battery systems and associated electronic components.
7. Ensuring Compliance and Safety:
Ensuring that all repairs, installations, and modifications comply with relevant safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
Conducting safety tests on electrical systems to confirm that vehicles are safe to return to the road.
8. Collaborating with Other Workshop Technicians:
Working alongside mechanics, panel beaters, and other automotive professionals to address multi-system vehicle issues.
Advising technicians on electrical system concerns and working together to resolve complex faults that may involve both mechanical and electrical components.
9. Customer Service and Reporting:
Communicating with customers to explain electrical issues and provide solutions.
Offering estimates on time and cost for repairs, upgrades, and installations.
Maintaining detailed records of repairs, parts replaced, and system diagnostics.
10. Maintaining Tools and Equipment:
Keeping diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and repair tools in working condition.
Ensuring that workshop tools are calibrated correctly and used safely
Task and Duties Mechanics includes:
Review Work Orders (what needs to be fixed on the vehicle) and discuss work with supervisor;
Check motors that are running, road test motor vehicles, and test automotive systems and components using testing devices to find the problem in the vehicle;
Tyre repair and maintenance such as changing tyres, repairing punctured tyres, wheel balance, wheel alignment, etc.;
Change, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems, including fuel, brake, steering and suspension;
Systems, transmissions, differentials, drive axles and shafts, emission control and exhaust systems, engines and electrical;
Cooling and climate control systems by using hand tools and other specialised automotive repair equipment;
Test and change repaired systems to the required standards;
Perform scheduled maintenance service, such as oil changes, lubrications and tune-ups;
Advice customers on work performed, general vehicle conditions and future repair requirements; and,
Follow safety procedures.
Candidate Requirements:
· Certificate III in Automotive electrical Technology
· Certificate III IN Automotive Mechancal Technology
· Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical
· *Selected candidates will be provided on the job training
· Salary range AUD $77500 + Super.
· Full time position.
