This is a Recruitment Pool for Permanent Full Time, Permanent Part Time, Fixed Term Full Time, Fixed Term Part Time, Casual appointments, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

We currently have:

  • one Permanent Part Time (0.6 FTE) position available, and
  • one Part Time 0.5 (FTE), Fixed Term (12-month) position available, with potential for extension.

Work days are Monday – Friday with some flexibility on working hours (including school hours).

Position Profile

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Clinical Psychologist to join our Work Health, Safety, and Wellbeing team at CAHS and provide high quality psychological services that support the mental health and wellbeing of staff across Perth Children’s Hospital and our community locations.

You will create a safe, confidential space for staff to process challenges, access support, and navigate periods of distress or crisis. Your expertise will be vital in delivering timely, trauma-informed care - offering much-needed support that will be deeply appreciated.

You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to foster resilience, professional excellence, and a culture of care that recognises staff wellbeing as fundamental to delivering safe, high-quality patient care.

In parallel, you will partner with Safety, Injury Management, Occupational Physicians, and external providers to ensure coordinated, high-quality care and support for staff when they need it most.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering specialised psychological services, including triage, risk assessment, first aid, and brief interventions, for staff coping with critical incidents, psychological stress, or work-related challenges.
  • Delivering trauma-informed support and psychoeducation to individuals and teams.
  • Supporting staff through HR and discipline processes, including occupational function evaluations.
  • Contributing to wellbeing initiatives and delivering training to managers and staff.
  • Actively contributing to research and evaluation of psychological programs and promote health and wellness initiatives for a healthy workforce.

We welcome applicants with experience in workplace mental health, EAP, or staff-focused settings—especially those skilled in psychological first aid, trauma-informed care, and short-term therapeutic interventions. Previous health sector experience is not required.

  • This role requires a Masters or Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology and eligibility for full registration and endorsement in Clinical Psychology with the Psychology Board of Australia.
