We have an exciting opportunity for a Coordinator – Tactical Asset Management to join our team to lead key asset management Tactical functions that shape the short & long-term sustainability and performance of our community assets.
In this leadership role, you will drive improvements in maintenance management programs, data governance, asset management practices and frameworks. You’ll lead the uplift of our Asset Management System, strengthening the consistency, quality and usability of asset data to enable evidence-based decision-making and more efficient service delivery.
What You Will Do:
As the Coordinator – Tactical Asset Management, you will take a hands-on leadership role in shaping how Council maintains and manages its infrastructure assets. This role is central to improving our maintenance management programs, data governance by improving the quality and consistency of our Asset Management System to improve asset performance and service levels.
We are looking for someone who understands the real-world challenges of infrastructure maintenance and can help build smarter systems and practices to inform long term planning objectives. You will translate asset management strategy into clear, actionable processes making it easier for stakeholders to plan, prioritise and deliver targeted programs that extends asset life and improves service levels.
Working closely with technical and operational teams, data systems and asset system frameworks, you will help ensure our infrastructure delivers maximum long-term value to the community through obtaining critical asset data and quantifying risk to enabling planning, optimised maintenance processes and more efficient resource utilisation.
This is a key role in shaping the future of how Council manages its Asset Management approach and Maintenance Management Programs for infrastructure assets. You will be a key driver in uplifting asset management capability, embedding robust systems and practices, and enabling smarter, more sustainable decision-making across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Assets - Monitor asset performance / service levels and implement a 5-year roadmap to enhance Council’s asset management maturity in key areas.
People - Lead the Asset Management Competency Assessment Framework and training to upskill key areas and promote stakeholder alignment with best practice.
Tools, Processes & Systems - Continuously improve Council’s asset management frameworks, including objectives, policies, planning documents and programs for asset renewal, maintenance strategy, condition assessments, asset criticality, defect elimination, work management, change management and planned outages.
Analyse, Data & Information - Oversee asset information governance, lifecycle cost analysis, asset revaluations, and lead the adoption of new technologies and data analytics to optimize investment, improve asset performance and manage asset-related risks.
Tactical Asset Management BAU Support - Provide tactical asset management support to relevant stakeholders.

This is a role for a strategic thinker and influential implementer, someone who can translate complex asset principles into clear processes that teams can adopt and rely on every day. You will be working with data, systems, people and policy to ensure that Council’s asset portfolio delivers maximum value to the community.
Extensive Asset Management exposure in a medium to large multi-disciplined organisation.
Deep understanding of ISO55000 standards and practises in a local government setting.
Ability to communicate asset performance and investment needs to executives, peers and operational teams.
Able to simplify complexity, engage stakeholders and deliver meaningful outcomes.
Thrive in a collaborative environment and are confident working across disciplines including maintenance management programs, data and analytics and AM systems.
Ability to lead change, embed robust processes and champion targeted best practice
