About Mawarnkarra Health Service (MHS)
Mawarnkarra (MHS) is the largest primary health care provider providing direct services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples living in the Roebourne area. MHS provides the families of Roebourne with a fully functional and accredited Clinic that treats approximately 3,000 people per year.

The Position
The role of Patient Transport Officer is to promote access to health services through the safe transport of clients to and from medical appointments to our clinics, including specialists’ appointments in and around the West Pilbara region, to the airport when accessing medical facilities outside of the West Pilbara region and delivering medications and appointment/reminder cards as directed by management.

The Requirements
Drive safely and with due care at all times
It is mandatory to have a Patient Transport Driver permit. You must be willing and able to obtain this and for it to be renewed every year. This is in accordance with Western Australian driving regulations
Ensure clients are safe and that all safety equipment is engaged (including child seats)
Assist clients on and off transport
Respond to an emergency medical situation appropriately
Ensure that the policies in respect to the transport of clients are consistently applied
Ensure that clients are treated respectfully at all times
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Ability to enter transport duties into our patient management system.
Good interpersonal communications skills.
Ability to manage a crisis situation, for example a vehicle breakdown in the middle of delivering services for clients.
Maintain fuel and mileage logs
Ensure timely delivery of medications and appointment/reminder cards to the relevant clients in accordance with policies and procedures
Other Requirements
Current Western Australian drivers license (no restrictions)
COVID-19 vaccinated
Consent to undergo a WA Working With Children Check and a National Police Clearance
Current CPR certificate
Able to pass regular and random drug and alcohol testing
Must hold a Passenger Transport Driver Authorisation (PTD) or consent to undergo the medical and subsequent application with the Department of Transport. Employment is conditional pending the outcome of this authorisation.

Remuneration Benefits include:
Salary of $83,000 - 86,000 p/a
12% Superannuation
Housing and District allowances (subject to eligibility)
