Are you a resilient and responsive mental health professional who believes meaningful relationships and holistic support belong at the heart of your work?
Exciting opportunity to join RAYS in delivering holistic mental health support differently through an innovative two-worker model where you'll support recovery through meaningful engagement, community connection, and genuine human care.
About You:
You're resilient, able to effectively manage emotional demands, and thrive in outreach environments where flexibility and adaptability are essential.
You deeply understand the interconnectedness of individuals and their communities, demonstrating unconditional positive regard and genuine care for vulnerable young people and their families.
You're highly self-reflective, have a growth mindset, and value opportunities to learn from experiences, with a strong commitment to continuous personal and professional growth.
Passionate about being part of something meaningful, you proactively engage in creating and nurturing a positive workplace culture. Your motivation comes from authentic alignment with our mission, purpose, and values.
You have experience and a strong commitment to combining clinical expertise with deep relationship-building and responsive, trauma-informed care.
About the Role:
At RAYS, our practice is grounded in relational care, trauma-informed practice, social inclusion, and community connection. We're committed to building lasting therapeutic relationships that empower young people and their communities. This role brings those values to life - combining clinical expertise with deep relationship-building and responsive, trauma-informed care
As a Mental Health Clinician, you will deliver an outreach-based program tailored for young people aged 12-25, working in close partnership with a Functional Recovery Manager to provide integrated clinical and psychosocial support. Together, you will proactively engage and support young people with or at risk of a severe mental illness, who are disengaged through flexible, person-centred care—delivered in homes, schools, parks, cafés, courtrooms, and other community settings, with some work required outside standard business hours. The model prioritises recovery, engagement, and social participation as key to long-term wellbeing.
Flexibility is essential, with services often delivered in community settings such as homes, schools, cafes, parks, or courtrooms. You'll participate actively in multidisciplinary team case reviews, coordinate care effectively, and occasionally facilitate therapeutic group sessions.
This role undertakes long-term, relationship-focused work—far beyond the traditional 10-session model—giving you the time and flexibility to build genuine connections and support meaningful, sustained recovery.
Based at the Redcliffe Area Youth Space, outreach occurs across the Moreton Bay region.
Skills and Experience:
We're seeking a passionate clinician committed to relational practice, eager to proactively engage young people experiencing severe mental health challenges and complex trauma.
Specifically, you’ll bring:
Relevant four-year degree with two years' mental health-specific experience, or a three-year degree with three years' relevant mental health experience (psychology, mental-health-accredited social work, occupational therapy, mental health nursing, or equivalent).
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in a range of therapies, including trauma-informed, stepped-care, and recovery-oriented practice.
Experience in working with young people and a commitment to a relational model of care
Ability and commitment to build authentic relationships with young people who have historically struggled to engage with traditional mental health services.
Capacity for deep self-reflection, a commitment to personal and professional growth, and a passion for actively contributing to a positive organisational culture.
Proven experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
Flexibility to deliver services outside traditional business hours.
We encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, culturally diverse individuals, and candidates with lived experience.
What We Offer You:
Competitive salary negotiable based on experience + superannuation
Salary packaging benefits up to $15,900 annually
Five weeks annual leave per year
A supportive, values-driven culture committed to your personal and professional growth
Regular supervision
Debriefing with multidisciplinary team (including leadership)
If you're looking for a role where your clinical skills and values are equally valued, and where you can make a tangible difference in young people’s lives, RAYS could be your next home.
