Brisbane Markets Limited (BML) is the proud owner and operator of the bustling Brisbane Markets in Rocklea, just 11km from the Brisbane CBD. Spanning 77 hectares, our site is home to over 160 tenants and more than 250 leases, including selling floors, warehouses, retail stores, and offices. Every day, more than 4,500 people pass through our gates, making BML a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.

About you

Are you a hands-on, proactive person who takes pride in keeping spaces safe, clean, and looking their best? Join our team at Brisbane Markets Limited (BML) and help shape the first impression of Queensland's leading fresh produce marketplace.

As a Sweeper Driver, you'll play a key role in maintaining the Brisbane Markets site to the highest standard. You'll be responsible for maintaining and operating the Road Sweeping equipment ensuring that all road surfaces are swept clean daily. The successful applicant will also provide assistance to the grounds and cleaning staff as required.

In this role you will demonstrate a thorough application of competencies including the ability to apply, adhere to and promote BML's values, policies, procedures and the Brisbane Markets Regulations.

Responsibilities:

Ensure the site is always clean and well-presented, exceeding WH&S standards.

Safely operate the road sweeping equipment.

Maintain all equipment and storage areas in a functional, clean and compliant manner.

Ensure a safe working environment is maintained.

Qualifications and Experience:

MR Manual Driver's License (or higher) with a clean driving record.

Willingness to obtain or possession of a current Forklift License (expenses covered).

Prior experience in road sweeping or related field.

Capability to conduct routine maintenance and basic mechanical inspections on the road sweeper.

Strong understanding of WH&S compliance.

Excellent communication and a proactive team attitude.

Demonstrated proficiency in time management.

Physical ability to climb in/out of vehicles and perform occasional manual cleaning tasks

Experience operating a road sweeper or willingness to be trained is highly regarded.

The role is a permanent full-time position with a guaranteed 40 hours per week. Applicants must be a permanent resident or Australian/NZ citizenship to be considered.
