OUR STORY

The Central Land Council (CLC) is a corporate Commonwealth entity established under the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976. The CLC represents traditional landowners, native title holders and other Aboriginal people in the southern half of the Northern Territory—an area of almost 780,000 square kilometres.

The CLC provides its constituents with advice, advocacy and practical assistance to support their aspirations, manage their land and realise and protect their rights.

THE ROLE

COORDINATOR, PBC SUPPORT UNIT - NT004 - ALICE SPRINGS

SO C $111,631.00 - $120,541.00

The Central Land Council (CLC) is the Native Title Representative Body (NTRB) for the southern region of the Northern Territory. As such, the CLC fulfils functions under the Native Title Act (NTA) in relation to the securing of, and advocating for, the Native Title rights of its constituents. The CLC provides support services to Prescribed Bodies Corporate (PBCs) in the CLC region.

The PBC Support Unit (PBCSU) was established to support PBCs in building their capacity to fulfil their legal and governance obligations and develop sustained governance practices. The PBCSU also assists PBCs to identify activities to support their social and cultural aspirations, and works in collaboration with PBC enterprise services to assess possible enterprise development activities to secure financial independence.

This position is responsible for the coordination, management, monitoring and implementation of the unit's workplan, supervision of staff and the effective delivery of CLC's support service as outlined in the service level agreement with PBCs, consistent with the CLC's Corporate Plan and Funding Body requirements.

Total effective package includes: base salary, district allowance, superannuation, leave loading, relocation assistance, annual airfare allowance and salary packaging options. Annual progression within the salary scale is subject to satisfactory performance. Progression is in accordance with annual increments set out in an enterprise agreement.
