Business Manager – Construction Industry

An exciting opportunity exists for an exceptional Business Manager to join the TWS Evolution progressive and innovative Infrastructure Management Team.

TWSe has built a reputation as an experienced provider of industry-leading technology and processes in the transfer and treatment of water, sewer, and minor civil rehabilitation works. Through design, construction, and maintenance practices, these key infrastructure projects keep our communities connected, safe, and expanding.

We’re looking for a commercially minded, experienced, and motivated BUSINESS MANAGER to lead us in this pivotal role and support our continued growth and transformation.

About the role:

Your role as Business Manager involves managing the day-to-day operations of our organisation, ensuring smooth functioning and alignment with the strategic goals of our Water & Sewer construction business.

You will work closely with the Managing Director and Office Administration Manager to shape and drive TWS Evolution’s financial strategy and operations. This high-impact role blends strategic insight with hands-on execution and team leadership.

Key responsibilities include:

- Partnering with the Managing Director to influence commercial decisions, pricing, and capital investments.

- Leading monthly reporting, consolidation, close-out, and internal controls to ensure financial accuracy and transparency.

- Development and review budgeting, forecasting, and P&L cost analysis processes in collaboration with the Managing Director and department leaders.

- Managing cash flow operations and forecasting, insurance coverage, and business risk frameworks.

- Driving continuous improvement in financial systems (Microsoft Office, Xero, and Simpro), reporting cycles, and analytics.

- Engaging confidently with external accountants and tax advisors and presenting financial insights to the Leadership Team and Board.

- Coaching and developing team members while fostering a culture of accountability, performance, and collaboration.

What you bring:

- Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and tax compliance, with at least 5 years’ experience in business finance processes.

- Proven experience in business management within a construction, engineering, or utilities-related firm.

- Demonstrated proficiency in financial control, development, reporting, and review.

- A collaborative, positive approach aligned with TWSe values: Integrity, accountability, innovation, and community.

- Strategic thinking, analytical and investigative skills, including the ability to research and prepare reports.

- Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain a high level of confidentiality.

- Knowledge of workplace health and safety responsibilities and a commitment to attending relevant WHS training.
