This role will involve working within a Traffic Facilities team based at Waratah, performing a variety of routine and repetitive tasks to assist the team with the completion and upkeep of records and quality documentation.

Applicants will need to have a demonstrated ability to use sound literacy and numeracy skills to complete work records and effectively communicate with the work team.

The focus of this role will involve working closely with Works Support Offices, Supervisors and Managers.

You will verify that work activities are completed to quality specifications by following established procedures, performing measurements to confirm quality both during and on completion of work, comparing results to engineering plans and contract requirements, and completing required records. This will involve safety, environmental and quality checks, audits, asset inspections, competency assessments and staff/contractor inductions.

A key component of this role will be understanding and maintaining knowledge of WHS legislation, policies and procedures; assessing and controlling risks; records management; and industry requirements to minimise risk and model safe work behaviour. You will also need to follow environmental procedures, including identifying and reporting environmental hazards, rectifying simple hazards without direction, selecting work methods that minimise environmental risk and apply appropriate control techniques to prevent environmental damage.

A current Construction white card is essential for this role, as well as a current Australian driver licence. You must also be willing to undertake any legislated or internal licensing or ticketing requirements as required.

This role offers a blend of administration / record keeping based functions as well as hands on work tasks in the field within civil work environments. You will need to be a genuine team player with a flexible and adaptable approach to your daily work, whilst also maintaining routine processes and meeting mandated requirements and deadlines.

Requirements of the role include:

Construction Industry Certification (White Card)

Work On Foot certificate (or willing to obtain - can be undertaken as part of the onboarding process for successful applicant/s)

sound computer operating and records management skills

Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team

Unencumbered Australian driver licence

Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with members of the public, external providers and staff at all levels - in both written and oral form.

Ability and willingness to undertake manual labouring tasks.

This role is currently available for an initial period of 3 months, with potential to extend beyond this timeframe. An immediate start of work is required and applicants must be available to work full time hours (8.5 hours/day - 9 day fortnight).
