An enterprise organisation delivering large-scale environmental and energy services is seeking an experienced SAP Technical Lead for a 6-month contract. Responsible for the technical health, performance, and security of the SAP landscape, with a focus on SAP Basis administration, database management, change control, and system integrity.

The position provides technical leadership over core SAP platform operations and acts as the primary technical escalation point for a managed service provider handling monitoring, alerts, and daily maintenance. The role also contributes to the planning of SAP BTP adoption and archiving strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide oversight and technical leadership across SAP Basis, system security, and database management functions.
• Act as the internal escalation point for issues raised by the external support partner managing SAP monitoring and routine operations.
• Manage and refine SAP change control processes, ensuring governance and audit compliance.
• Coordinate with internal infrastructure and security teams to ensure database performance and system availability.
• Contribute to the strategic direction of SAP cloud transformation (BTP) and data archiving initiatives.
• Support decision-making around system lifecycle, enhancements, and technical architecture.

Required Experience:

• Demonstrated experience in a senior SAP technical or Basis leadership role within an enterprise environment.
• Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA, underlying databases (HANA, Oracle, or SQL Server), and SAP security models.
• Experience working with or overseeing external SAP managed service providers.
• Exposure to SAP BTP or similar cloud platform initiatives is desirable.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and coordination skills.
