About Us

The Association of Bayside Municipalities (ABM) is an unincorporated association, funded by and representing the dynamic interests of the councils with frontage to Port Phillip Bay. Hosted by the Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV) within the Climate Futures & Resilience team, the ABM is dedicated to elevating evidence-based decision-making for the future health of Port Phillip Bay. Our mission aligns with the MAV’s vision to be a nation-leading organisation for the Victorian local government sector in strategic foresight, policy and research, leadership and governance, service design, and advocacy impact.

Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate and proactive Program Advisor to join our team. In this role, you will support the implementation of the ABM’s 2025-29 Strategic Plan and key governance recommendations. Your primary focus will be on engaging with ABM member councils to deliver priority actions, developing an advocacy and communications strategy, and planning annual events. You will also collaborate with members to identify and progress key partnerships, including funding opportunities, and contribute to policy responses.

Key Responsibilities

Support the implementation of the ABM’s 2025-29 Strategic Plan.

Engage and consult with ABM member councils to deliver priority actions.

Develop and drive an advocacy and communications strategy.

Plan and execute annual events in consultation with the Climate Futures and Resilience Lead and the ABM.

Collaborate with members to identify and progress key partnerships and funding opportunities.

Contribute to policy responses relating to the ABM.

Provide administrative, project management, and governance support to the ABM Program and Executive Committee.

Perform secretariat duties, develop and monitor budgets, and ensure compliance with the ABM Charter.
