Role Summary

Reporting directly to the Group CEO and sitting on the Executive Leadership Team, the Head of Finance / CFO owns the global finance agenda—strategic planning, forecasting, capital management, investor relations, and data-driven performance management. You’ll lead a lean, high-calibre finance team, modernise our FinTech stack, and partner closely with Product and GTM leaders to convert insights into growth and margin expansion. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for a finance executive who thrives in scale-up SaaS environments and is excited to shape the next chapter of our journey.

Key Responsibilities

Area/What You’ll Do/Outcomes & KPIs

Strategic Finance

Own three-year financial model, annual operating plan, and board reporting.

Advise CEO on capital structure, M&A, and exit pathways.

Reliable rolling forecast accuracy (<±5 %). Board satisfaction score.

Operational Excellence

Implement & optimise revenue, billing, ERP, and BI systems

Automate the close-to-report cycle to ≤5 days.

Month-end cycle time.

Finance OPEX as % of ARR.

Business Partnering

Embed unit-economics discipline (CAC payback, NRR, LTV/CAC) across GTM.

Support pricing, packaging, and expansion plays.

NRR ≥110 %.

Gross margin improvement.

People & Culture

Lead, coach, and scale a 3-person finance & FP&A team.

Champion data-driven decision-making company-wide.

eNPS & talent retention

Data literacy adoption.

Governance & Investor Relations

Manage board packs, audit, compliance, and external advisors.

Craft and articulate the financial story to shareholders and potential investors.

Clean audit; investor confidence metrics.

Key Competencies & Experience

SaaS Finance Leadership: 5–8+ years owning the finance function (Controller → VP Finance → CFO) in ≥A$10 MM ARR B2B SaaS businesses.

Enterprise SaaS Fluency: Deep grasp of subscription economics, SDLC cost capitalisation, ARR waterfalls, churn analytics, and multi-entity consolidation.

Cashflow Management & Forecasting: Demonstrated experience developing strategic financial models & from multiple input sources to accurately predict future cash.

FinTech Implementation: Proven delivery of revenue recognition, billing, ERP/accounting, and analytics platforms (e.g., Maxio, Chargebee, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Stripe Billing, PowerBI).

Operational Efficiency: Track record of scaling via process & tooling, not headcount

GTM Partnership: Demonstrated collaboration with Sales, CS, and Marketing to drive pipeline hygiene, sales productivity, and retention metrics. Drive key technology improvements for financial projections with partner-owned systems (i.e. Hubspot)

Strategic Mindset: Comfortable switching between board-level strategy and day-to-day execution.

Multi-national Experience; multi-currency, multi-GAAP environments (AASB, IFRS, US GAAP).

Live SaaS metrics dashboard adopted by all functional leads.

Reports to: Group Chief Executive Officer

Direct reports: Finance Manager, Senior Accountant, Human Resources Manager

Location: Melbourne HQ (Carlton) with flexible hybrid work (3 days on-site). Occasional travel (<10 %) to global offices.
