About Us:

H.M. Prison Langi Kal Kal is a minimum-security men's protection prison located 140klm west of Melbourne at Trawalla. The prison's primary purpose is the reintegration and preparedness of offenders for transition to release.

H.M Prison Langi Kal Kal is made up of eight separate industries: Farm, Horticulture, Landmate, Kitchen, Metal Fabrication, Poultry, Textiles, Stores, & Warehouse,
where there is a strong focus on employment, training, and work readiness.

About the Role:

The Justice Officer - Corporate Services will report to the Finance Team Leader and will be responsible for providing a range of corporate support services. Responsibilities include assist in dayto-day operations of the finance corporate support services, including accounts payable and purchasing transactions; assist in day-to-day operations of the reception and discharge functions; and assist in day-to-day operations of the prison stores functions including procurement and prisoner shop.

This position will entail direct prisoner contact and may involve weekend and possible public holiday work, remunerated in accordance with the applicable provision of the VPS agreement.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Providing information and assistance to clients, internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with procedures and practices and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Prepare routine correspondence and reports.

About You:

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Well-developed computer skills.
  • An understanding of stores operations (desirable).
  • An understanding of occupational health and safety practices (desirable).
