Position Title: Human Resources Manager
Reports To: General Manager
Department: Human Resources
Location: Hybrid – Karratha/Roebourne
Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Summary:

The Human Resources (HR) Manager is responsible for leading and executing all HR strategies and functions to support the company’s strategic and operational goals.. This role oversees recruitment, employee relations, performance management, renumeration and benefits, compliance, and HR policy development. The HR Manager serves as a strategic partner to leadership and a resource to employees, fostering a positive workplace culture aligned with the organisation’s mission and values.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic HR Leadership

● Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the organisation’s business objectives.

● Partner with senior leadership to drive organisational development, workforce planning, and change management initiatives.

● Support diversity, equity and inclusivity (DEI) programs and goals.

Recruitment & Talent Management

● Oversee the full-cycle recruitment process, ensuring efficient recruitment practices and positive candidate experiences.

● Develop and manage onboarding, induction, and training programs to promote retention and engagement.

● Lead succession planning and career development initiatives.

Employee Relations & Performance

● Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and managers, handling employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.

● Administer performance appraisal processes and assist managers in performance improvement planning.

● Overseeing role specific formal training that has been identified during performance reviews.

● Promote a positive workplace culture through engagement strategies, surveys, and feedback mechanisms.

Compensation & Benefits

● Oversee the administration of employee benefits, compensation plans, and payroll collaboration.

● Evaluate and recommend competitive compensation and benefits practices to attract and retain talent.

Compliance & Policy Management

● Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and employment regulations.

● Maintain employee records in accordance with legal requirements and best practices.

● Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and the employee handbook.

HR Systems & Reporting

● Oversee HR systems and ensure accurate data management and reporting.

● Monitor and analyse HR metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

● Bachelor’s degree in human resources[1] or equivalent.

● 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including 2+ years in a management role.

● Experience supporting 100+employees strongly preferred.

Knowledge & Skills:

● Strong knowledge of employment law, industrial relations HR best practices.

● Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.

● Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

● Proficiency in HR platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

● Primarily office-based with occasional travel to other company sites[2] across the city of Karratha.

● Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods and use standard office equipment.

● Current Driver Licence.

● Ability to pass a National Police Check.
