· Location: Local projects with occasional short FIFO (Fly-In-Fly-Out) or DIDO (Drive-In-Drive-Out) assignments

Your Responsibilities

You will be instrumental in ensuring that underground utilities are correctly identified and documented before construction or excavation begins. Your daily duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

· Completing detailed job reports, SWMS (Safe Work Method Statements), Take 5’s, and other required documentation to ensure clarity, accountability, and compliance with safety regulations.

· Identification and mapping of underground assets, utilizing your expertise in interpreting DBYD (Dial Before You Dig) plans and other utility records.

· Performing utility locating using a range of technologies, including Electromagnetic (EM) locators, Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), and Vacuum excavation.

· Ensuring all client specifications and quality criteria are fully met, delivering results that meet or exceed expectations every time.

· Collaborating with project teams, site supervisors, and clients to provide technical advice and ensure smooth project delivery.

· Upholding the highest standards of safety and quality in every aspect of your work, championing a culture of care and professionalism.

· Working autonomously, managing your time and responsibilities efficiently, and displaying initiative and sound decision-making skills on job sites.

Essential Criteria

To be successful in this role, you must meet the following essential criteria:

· Certloc Accreditation—demonstrating your professional qualification in utility locating.

· Minimum of 3 years’ experience in utility locating, with proven expertise in using EM locators, GPR, and Vacuum excavation methods.

· Valid Construction White Card, evidencing your understanding of construction safety standards and regulations.

· Current National Police Clearance, ensuring you meet our integrity and security requirements.

· Ability to complete and pass a thorough pre-employment medical assessment and Drug & Alcohol screening.

· Current C class driver’s license—crucial for attending local and regional worksites.

· Ability to work on local projects as well as undertake short FIFO or DIDO assignments as required.

· Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and quality control.

· Confidence to work autonomously, managing tasks and responsibilities independently while maintaining high standards.

Desirable Skills and Experience

While not essential, experience or qualifications in the following areas will be highly regarded and may provide opportunities for additional responsibilities and remuneration:

· Acoustic Leak Detection—experience with technologies and methodologies for detecting leaks in water infrastructure.

· Concrete GPR—proficient in surveying and mapping features within concrete structures.

· GNSS RTK Surveying—experience with high-precision GNSS Real-Time Kinematic surveying equipment and workflows.

· Relevant Trade Qualification—formal trade credentials in a related field such as electrical, plumbing, or civil construction.

· Mechanical Experience or Knowledgeability to troubleshoot and maintain locating equipment or related machinery.
