Our client, a large complex Queensland Government department, are currently seeking a Change & Policy Advisor (Claims Management) for an initial 3-year contract.
The Claims Management team is responsible for the management of insurance claims associated with the Department’s Resource Replacement Scheme and Queensland Government Insurance Fund (QGIF).
This position would suit someone with strong change management and policy development experience from a finance or insurance background.
The successful candidate will be required to:
- lead review of the Resource Replacement Scheme Procedure and Specified Cover (last reviewed 2021), ensuring alignment with departmental requirements, QGIF (Queensland Government Insurance Fund) policies; and the department’s equipment management and risk management frameworks.
- develop supporting documents and guides to improve accessibility for schools and education sites for Resource Replacement Scheme and QGIF claims.
- drive continuous improvement review of claims processes and team practices.
- oversee review of departmental procedures for claims under QGIF and QRA (Queensland Reconstruction Authority).
Responsibilities include:
- Undertake high level planning to develop the current packages for implementation with school and early childhood communities across Queensland to modernise and optimise school facilities.
- Lead and participate in teams involved in the formulation of innovative and workable solutions for infrastructure and planning related services.
- Provide high level advice to Branch management and senior executive, Regional Directors and Principals on a broad range of issues.
- Participate in project teams in the development, implementation, maintenance and review of programs, policies and procedures that support the strategic direction of the department for a range of infrastructure and planning related issues.
- Establish and maintain strategic networks to monitor issues and changes, and to identify, define and analyse best practice approaches to implementing consistent processes for a range of infrastructure and planning related services.
- Prepare Ministerial responses, reports and briefing materials on a range of infrastructure, planning and asset management issues.
- Contribute to the development of team members by providing guidance and support, including on the job training.
- Regularly liaise with stakeholder groups to ensure services managed by the unit/team(s) meet their needs.
Key skills and experience required;
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in change management and policy development ideally with a finance or insurance background

Casual Loading
Please note for all Australian based contract and temporary roles only, the pay rate is inclusive of mandatory 25% casual loading. This excludes permanent and fixed term roles.
