Drug and Alcohol Clinician - Registered Nurse
Location: Regional/Rural NSW - Just 3 hours from Mildura, 5 hours from Adelaide, or a short flight from anywhere in Australia!

Remuneration: $90,000 - $120,000 + Super

The Role
This role offers experienced Registered Nurses the opportunity to provide specialist assessment, treatment, and case management services to individuals affected by drug and alcohol use. You will join a multidisciplinary team, helping to shape and deliver comprehensive and evidence-based care that supports withdrawal, harm minimisation, and long-term recovery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting triage, assessments, withdrawal management, and referrals
- Delivering trauma-informed and person-centred interventions
- Managing a diverse caseload and participating in collaborative care planning
- Working with clients with co-existing mental health and substance use challenges
- Delivering opioid treatment programs and related therapeutic interventions
- Supporting clients through inpatient or community-based withdrawal
- Facilitating education, prevention, and training initiatives for clients and key stakeholders
- Participating in clinical supervision, service planning, and quality improvement initiatives
- Maintaining up-to-date documentation and client records in CHOC
- Staying current with trends in drug and alcohol treatment and policy
What We're Looking For
We're seeking a compassionate, skilled, and experienced clinician with:
- Unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA and a minimum of 2 years' clinical experience in the drug and alcohol sector
- Demonstrated knowledge of substance use treatment approaches and clinical best practice
- Experience delivering recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, person-centred care
- A strong commitment to working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients and communities
- Evidence of ongoing professional development and commitment to sharing knowledge with peers and students
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with intermediate computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite)
- Competence in using clinical documentation and electronic information systems
- A current NSW driver's licence and willingness to travel as required
