About the Role

Tall Order Electrical is an electrical, automation and maintenance services business and we are currently seeking a highly motivated Industrial Electrician to join our Projects and Installation team!

As an integral member of the Electrical team, your expertise will be highly valued as you collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on a range of services, including pre-engineering activities, panel building, field device wiring, cable layouts and overall project delivery through all installation and commissioning phases.

Your primary responsibility will be to deliver innovative automation and electrical solutions for our valued clients. In addition, you may be required to support our existing customers by providing maintenance and breakdown services as needed, ensuring we keep their operations running smoothly.

Role and Responsibilities

Project Delivery

Contribute to the installation, commissioning and maintenance of automation systems and industrial electrical equipment.

Involvement in projects related to low voltage control systems, power distribution, automation systems (PLC, SCADA, HMI), programming, communication and networking, motors and drives, lighting, electrical wiring and cabling as well as machine safety.

Conducting functional tests to ensure equipment and systems operate as intended and certify that installations meet operational and safety standards before customer handover

Undertake scheduled proactive maintenance and upgrade activities to best ensure the long-term reliability of electrical and control systems for our customers.

Panel Building, Cable Management and Electrical Drawings

Wiring control panels and connecting components in electrical cabinets.

Planning cable routing and management systems within ladder, trays, conduits etc…

Interpret electrical drawings, diagrams, and technical specifications to effectively execute installation and repair tasks.

PLC's, Safety Wiring and Control Systems

A working knowledge of PLC systems with the ability to go online and read basic code for troubleshooting.

Proficiency in safety circuit wiring and the ability to troubleshoot faults within relays and programmable safety controllers.

Installation and maintenance of control instruments and systems including VSDs for motor control.

Teamwork and Compliance

Work collaboratively with other Electricians, Fitters, Engineers and Customer site teams to achieve high-quality outcomes and a better customer experience.

Recording detailed and accurate accounts of all work performed and logging reports in our online maintenance portal.

Strong understanding of safety standards and procedures such as LOTO, work permits, hazardous work and a strong safety mindset to promote a safe work environment for yourself and others.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

NSW Electrical Licences with completed electrical apprenticeship

Minimum of 3 years manufacturing industry or other industrial maintenance experience. (Large commercial project experience accepted)

Career experience and process knowledge within Manufacturing sites. (e.g. Packaging / Food & Beverage / FMCG or equivalent industry experience)

Ideal candidate will have experience with industrial control systems, PLC programming, variable speed drives and fault finding specifically for diagnostic problem solving.

Familiarity with Rockwell Studio 5000 and/or Siemens TIA Portal highly desirable.

Ability to read, understand, interpret, and fault find an electrical schematic and technical drawings and a working knowledge of AS/NZS 3000

Ability to work effectively and build the necessary relationships with teammates and client teams to achieve common goals

Possession of valid licenses such as EWP license, working safely at heights, and confined space tickets would be our ideal candidate fit but all can be attained through company provided training

Current Australian driver's licence required
