About the role

Are you an experienced excavator operator with a passion for rock wall construction? Retaincon is looking for a skilled professional to join our growing team in Palm Beach, QLD. This is a full-time position where you’ll play a vital role in constructing and maintaining rock walls and large-scale earthmoving projects across SE QLD and Northern NSW.

What you'll be doing

Operate excavators (1.7-tonne to 30-tonne) and other machinery for residential and civil rock wall construction

Build high-quality sandstone and bush rock retaining walls

Read and interpret site plans and specifications to guide project execution

Conduct routine maintenance and pre-start safety checks on equipment

Work collaboratively with team members to meet deadlines and quality standards

Identify and report site hazards, ensuring a safe work environment

Follow all company procedures and safety regulations

To succeed in this role, you will need:

Experience: Minimum 3 years operating excavators, ideally in rock wall or civil construction

Skills: Strong ability to read site plans and work independently on complex tasks

Availability: Monday to Friday, 6:30am–5:00pm, with occasional Saturday work

Qualifications: Current Excavator (H) licence and other relevant industry tickets
