About the role

We are seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to join our growing team at D & K Lawson Plumbing in Toowoomba, Queensland. As an Excavator Operator, you will play a vital role in our construction projects, ensuring efficient and safe site preparation and earthmoving operations. This is a full-time position that offers opportunities for career development in a dynamic and collaborative work environment.

What you'll be doing

Operate and maintain excavation equipment such as hydraulic excavators, track loaders and Bobcats

Carry out site preparation, demolition, and trenching tasks as directed by Supervisors

Ensure proper and safe operation of equipment, identifying and reporting any issues or maintenance needs

Collaborate with the construction team to coordinate efficient workflow

Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe work environment

What we're looking for

Minimum 3 years of experience as an Excavator Operator in the construction industry

Formal qualifications or certification in operating construction equipment, such as a Cert III in Civil Construction

Strong understanding of construction methods, site preparation techniques, and equipment maintenance

Ability to read and interpret plans and understanding levels

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Commitment to workplace safety and a proactive approach to risk management

Effective communication and teamwork skills

Minimum HC Open truck licence is an advantage but not essential

Experience operating Truck and Dog trailers an advantage but not essential

Valid White Card (Construction Induction Card)

Current excavator ticket/VOC/RII certification

Must have valid Australian work rights

Valid Australian Driver's Licence required
