This position will be managed jointly by the Ingham Institute and the Agency for Clinical Innovation (ACI).
The ACI works with clinicians, consumers and system leaders to improve the health system in NSW. We design and implement new ways to deliver care for patients.
ACI partners with the Ministry of Health, pillar organisations, local health districts, specialty networks, clinicians, patients and carers. We work together to achieve better value in healthcare by improving patient and provider experience, improving patient outcomes and delivering efficient and sustainable healthcare services.
About the role
We are looking for a Project Officer with a strong background in delivering rehabilitation case management for people with severe traumatic brain injury.
The Project Officer – Rehabilitation Case Management will work collaboratively with the network of service managers, case managers and rehabilitation coordinators working for the NSW Brain Injury Rehabilitation Program (BIRP) to up-date the statewide roles and functions of case managers working for NSW BIRP.
The role will develop, with a working group of subject matter experts, an induction strategy (resources, training, mentoring program or other as deemed appropriate) to support the on-boarding of clinicians new to the role of rehabilitation case manager at BIRP.
The role will explore the option of a Community of Practice (or similar strategy) to support the on-going statewide collaboration and capability lift of clinicians working in case management roles.
The role will develop a set of capabilities/expectations to facilitate clinician self-assessment and identification of learning needs related to their role as a rehabilitation case manager within NSW BIRP.
The role will coordinate the review of current documents/resources owned and published by NSW BIRP (CM Model of Care; TBI Staff Training Modules) and work with ACI to facilitate revision of content.
The Project Officer will ensure current evidence regarding best practice is incorporated into reviews along with clinician consensus and consideration of the application of evidence within the NSW Health context.
The Project Officer position is part-time – 3 days/week (0.6FTE) and the term of employment is 30 weeks.
Salary level is commensurate with NSW Health Managers Award (2024) - Level 3 $127,150 (pro-rated to 0.6 FTE) plus superannuation & salary packaging.
About You
As a Project Officer, the following requirements are needed for the role:
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant allied health or nursing discipline.
Extensive experience in the role of case manager/rehabilitation coordinator for people with severe traumatic brain injuries.
Knowledge and experience of the NSW BIRP and how it delivers case management services to patients and clients.
Experience collaborating with other clinicians and/or subject matter experts to explore clinical practice, achieve consensus and produce resources.
Knowledge of strategies to facilitate onboarding new staff and developing information and learning resources for use in the workplace context.
Demonstrated ability to work with teams and stakeholders.
High level verbal and written communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Sound critical and systems thinking skills applied to NSW health system.
Experience in managing and implementing projects, quality frameworks and/or other clinical initiatives.
Excellent organisational skills and strong computer proficiency.
