The Opportunity
The Project Manager is responsible for the delivery of integrated community projects, place programs, civil works, open space upgrades and management of grant funding for the River Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Project. The role will be critical to the scoping, planning, designing and implementation of civil, community and open space asset upgrades and for coordinating program level deliverables across the T2D Project. The role is responsive to meet the changing priorities and challenges of the Project and will deliver solutions for complex issues, including project funding, and will report on outcomes to relevant stakeholders.
The incumbent will provide leadership, strategic thinking and advice and deliver community projects and open space assets to align with the broader objectives of the North-South Corridor Program Delivery Office (NSC). The Project Manager will implement a progressive best practice approach to project management and will organise, manage and provide direction to advisers and offer support to the wider team to effectively deliver services related to the T2D Project.
The Project Manager will coordinate and have responsibility for the tracking and monitoring of project deliverables and identification of business risks, including overseeing grant funding processes, from application to acquittal. This is a project management role, and the incumbent will be expected to manage project costs, plan and schedule, implement risk management strategies and engage respectfully with internal and external stakeholders.
About You
The successful candidate will demonstrate proven experience in investigations, application assessments, and maintaining accurate records, along with strong analytical and research skills to produce clear, timely reports and correspondence. Confident working independently or collaboratively, managing high workloads with attention to detail, and consistently meeting deadlines and performance targets.
Communicates with clarity and empathy, quickly building rapport with diverse stakeholders and handling sensitive matters with discretion. A solid understanding of government programs, policies, and legislation supports the delivery of high-quality outcomes across assigned services and systems, while contributing effectively to team goals and service excellence.
Qualifications/Experience
For appointment to the role at the PO4 classification level, a recognised degree or postgraduate qualification that provides eligibility for professional accreditation in Civil Engineering, another relevant engineering discipline, or in planning or transport planning is required.
For appointment to the role at the ASO7 classification level, a qualification in Civil Engineering is desirable, along with credentials in Project Management or a related discipline, supported by experience in comparable roles, including relevant industry exposure to complex infrastructure projects and the successful delivery and administration of community-level initiatives is highly desirable.
Special Conditions
The successful candidate will be required to provide a National Police Check (NPC) prior to employment with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.
Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.
A current Australian Driver's Licence is essential.
