The Opportunity

ATB Mechanical Pty Ltd, a family truck repair business in Bundaberg East QLD 4670, is seeking an experienced Workshop Manager/Diesel Mechanic to join their team. This full-time role will oversee the day-to-day operations of the workshop, ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of high-quality diesel mechanical repairs.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the workshop team, including scheduling, task allocation, and performance monitoring

Diagnose and repair a wide range of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment

Implement and maintain workshop procedures and quality control measures

Oversee the maintenance of tools, equipment, and the workshop environment

Provide technical guidance and support to the workshop team

Liaise with customers, ensuring their satisfaction with the services provided

Monitor and report on workshop performance metrics

Contribute to the continuous improvement of workshop operations

Computer data entry for Scania Servicing and warranty claims

What We're Looking For

Proven experience as a diesel mechanic, with a strong understanding of diesel engine systems and repair procedures

Previous experience in a workshop management or supervisory role within the automotive industry

Excellent technical and diagnostic skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues

Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to effectively communicate with both customers and the workshop team

Proficient in the use of workshop tools and diagnostic equipment

Excellent time management and organisational skills

Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety

Computer literacy

Relevant trade qualifications or certifications in diesel mechanics
