Galbiri Childcare & Preschool Centre is a not-for-profit Childcare and Kindergarten located in the beautiful suburb of Belgian Gardens Townsville. Galbiri “ Place of Children” has been in operation for over 46 years. We place the highest importance on Early Childhood Education and in providing a safe, stimulating environment for our children to grow and learn.

We are looking for amazing Permanent and Casual Support Educators to join our Galbiri Team!

If you have a Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent), and are able to work between the hours of 7.30am - 5.30pm, we would love to hear from you! We also welcome applicants just beginning studies in Early Childhood Education and Care, who are looking for a start in this profession.

WHAT GALBIRI OFFERS TO OUR TEAM!!!

We conduct paid monthly staff meetings as a time and a half rate, the meetings are either in service or online via Zoom with dinner supplied

Employ a non-contact Educational Leader Three days per week to provide support to all educators

We offer a consistent 4 day working week, with a consistent weekly RDO, however we can accommodate a 5 day week if needed.

Our Educators are paid weekly to support financial stability

We pay 10% above award wages

Paid CPR & First Aid Course

Professional Development Paid and Delivered

Family Orientated Service to try accommodate all educators needs

Galbiri Operating Hours are 7.30am to 5.30pm week days - Closed on Public Holidays

Christmas Centre Closure for 2 Weeks - All educators are able to have Christmas and New Years Break

Our Goal is to have 3 educators in each room to provide Quality Care to Children and Continuity of Educators

We are a community base service, there for decisions are made within the service based on the needs and values of our families, educators and children. We have a hands on committee

Staff are Mentored and Supported throughout their Galbiri Journey

Educators have a say in the purchase of room resources

Galbiri Pays for end of year Christmas Party & Gift

Current Child Protection Training or willingness to obtain one

Additional Child Protection Training, in line with section 162A of the Education and Care Services National Law and the Queensland Government. Completion of 1 of the following courses will ensure compliance: CHCPRT025, CHCPRT001, CHCPRT026,CHCPRT002 or CHCECE057 or willingness to obtain one.
