At Busy Bees at Armstrong Creek, we believe that nutrition is a key ingredient in every child’s learning journey. We’re looking for a dedicated and experienced Chef to join our team full-time and deliver fresh, healthy meals in a supportive early learning environment.
This role is ideal for someone who loves preparing nourishing meals and understands the importance of catering to young children — including managing allergies, intolerances, and special dietary requirements.
About the Role
As our Centre Chef, you will:
Plan and prepare fresh, nutritious meals daily for children aged 0–5
Cater to allergies, cultural needs, and dietary restrictions with care and compliance
Maintain food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness standards
Order stock and manage kitchen supplies and budget
Collaborate with the Centre Director and educators to support health and wellbeing
Interact with children during mealtimes and contribute to a positive food culture
What You’ll Need
Certificate in Commercial Cookery or relevant experience
Proven experience in a childcare, school, or similar environment
Understanding of allergy-aware meal preparation and food safety plans
Current Working with Children Check (Employee) – VIC
Food Handling and Food Safety Supervisor Certificates
Excellent time management, hygiene, and organisational skills
Friendly, approachable, and passionate about child nutrition
Australian work rights (Citizen, PR, or appropriate visa)
